1 st Asia Conference on Montessori Education (FACME)

Independence of the child- Montessori perspectives. 11 th , 12 th and 13 th June
1999.
The conference dealt with Independence as a means of development. As
Dr.Montessori says “the child who is born normally and is growing normally goes
towards independence: Speakers were from other fields of education from
Japan, Korea, Tibet Pakistan etc. Nearly 600 delegates attended.

National Seminar- January 1995 7 th and 8 th January 1995

The conference was held in Chalukya Hotel. The first day was dealt by several
educationalists like Dr.S.R.Rohidekar, Dr.Alok Pandey, Dr.Malavika Kapur,
Dr.T.K.Jayalakshmi.
The second day had talks by Smt.Dipti Devi, followed by Smt.Radha Nagaraj,
concluded by Ms.Priya Nayak and Smt.Amukta Mahapatra.

National Seminar on Child and War on Human Poverty- 8 th , 9 th February
1997

Promotion of education is based on the knowledge of physical, intellectual
spiritual and social development of the child. Different speakers spoke on healthy
growth of the individuals’ body, mind and moral stamina.

Montessori in India 1939 to 1989

This conference was conducted at Kalakshetra Auditorium, Chennai on 13 th
October 1989 to commemorate 50 years of Montessori Movement in India. The
first Indian Montessori Training course was conducted by Dr.Montessori at Adyar
in 1939. It was one of the revolutionary social educational movement that she
inaugurated in our country.

Today’s Child

Montessori Congress 2007 conducted on 5 th , 6 th and 7 th January 2007 conducted
to J.N.Tata Auditorium, Different topics discussed- 5 th January 2007.

II day 6 th day
Child in the Society- Under this is the child a forgotten citizen, right of the child,
Child urban.
