Smt. Nandini Ghosh grew up in Delhi where she completed her schooling and college education from Jesuit institutions. She graduated with honors in English, followed by a bachelor’s in fine arts (Painting). She was drawn to the Montessori philosophy on the birth of her child. Thus, to have a better understanding of the early years she completed the Montessori teachers training course conducted by MMTC from Kolkata in the year 1999. Thereafter the Montessori method and philosophy became her true calling in life.
Before getting into the Montessori Arena, she had gained work experience at several places, as Senior Art Teacher at Sanatan Dharam Public School in Delhi, then at Springdales High School, New Delhi and lastly with the Sales & Marketing team for the Oberoi Group of Hotels, in Kolkata. This gave her a well-rounded exposure and prepared her for her own entrepreneurship journey in later years.
After acquiring her Montessori Diploma, she worked at many institutions such as Dew Drops Montessori School, Kolkata, (1998-2000), as Founder Principal of Modern Montessori International (MMI, London) till 2004, where she acquired considerable knowledge to establish and run her own school. At most of these places, her interest was more in managing Montessori institutions effectively and efficiently. With a wealth of experience and a nurtured dream she started her own environment by the name of ‘Our Montessori House’ in Gurgaon in 2005 and managed to run the school with great success. She built up a high reputation for following the pure Montessori method and the school is recognized as a one of the top Montessori schools in the NCR region.
Her passion fueled the venture to greater heights and in 2015, with the help and guidance of her husband Mr. Biswajit Ghosh, she embarked on building a full-fledged House of Children which could cater to the needs of the 2 to 8 age group in a specially designed Montessori environment as well as a center for training teachers in this methodology. This also houses a Centre of Art for young artists. Today it can boast of having extraordinary Montessori facilities incorporating the latest educative materials and technology.
To bring about authentic Montessori training for adults, she collaborated with IMC in 2016 and took its help to train Diploma students under the IMC banner. She thus established the IMTC Gurgaon Centre for teachers Training. The northern chapter of Indian Montessori Centre (IMC North) was also established in her new school building where she with her husband took charge of the same. Simultaneously, Ms. Ghosh registered for the MDTC Course of IMC to get herself trained as a Trainer. Her tremendous energy and enthusiasm are evident, not only to master the Montessori Training in our country but also take it to the highest level of Trainers Training (Directors). In this regard, she has shown her great vision in first training and creating a team by encouraging the principal of her school to complete her Montessori Director Training Course (MDTC). Now she has a well-established team and together they share the vision of taking the Montessori Training to different parts of the country. Ms. Nandini Ghosh, with both her managerial and academic background, has shown her capacity to manage future Montessori Schools not only in our country but also foray into other parts of the world. Ms. Ghosh’s Montessori Teaching and Training Centre will serve as a role model for everyone who desires to take this up.
Trained Montessori adults taking on the task of helping young minds reveal their true nature is the vision she is committed to. Propagation of the Montessori methodology in the northern part of the country where the method is not so prevalent, is her continued effort aided by the IMC Northern Chapter. Hosting various workshops and seminars across North India, including the Army School in Jammu, Government College in Gurgaon, the Delhi Public School chain of schools, and Lovely Professional University in Punjab to name a few are the ongoing efforts to spread the Montessori philosophy far and wide. She and her team are making constant endeavors to make more schools in northern India come under the umbrella of the Montessori methodology and expand the reach of the teachers training modules being offered.
