Deepa Kamat holds her graduation degrees as Bachelor of Fine Arts – Graphic Arts, 2001 and Bachelor of Education – B.Ed., 2016 from the Bangalore University. 
She began her journey as a Montessorian after completing her Diploma in Primary Montessori from IMTC, under the directorship of Mrs. Meenakshi Sivaramakrishnan in 2002. She founded Romasha Vidyaniketan Montessori House of Children, Bangalore.  Interested and inspired by the Montessori Philosophy she completed her Diploma in advanced course of Elementary Montessori from IIMS in 2005.  In the same year she founded the second school Atreya Vidyaniketan, which facilitated primary and elementary Montessori Education for children. She has worked with children in the Primary Montessori Environment for 5 years and with the Elementary Children for 7 years. Parallelly, she received her International Diplomas from North American Montessori Center, Vancouver, Canada in Preschool Montessori Program (3-6 years) in 2008, Lower Elementary Montessori Program (6-9) years in 2009, Upper Elementary Program (9-12) years in 2010 and Infant, Toddler and Two’s Montessori Program in 2014.

In 2014, she took up student counselling after completing her Advanced certification in student counselling (ACSC) from Banjara Academy. She is also the trustee of Romasha International School, Bangalore since 2014 and Shubham Karoti Maitreyi Gurukul, Bangalore since 2021.

She was conferred the title of ‘Director’ by the Indian Montessori Centre in 2015 thereby admitting her to the fraternity of Directors of Indian Montessori Centre. The title enables her to train Montessori teachers under the seal of Indian Montessori Centre. She has been the Director of IMTC – Hosur from 2016 – 2018. She continues to be the Director of IMTC – Elementary in Bangalore since 2014 and Director of IMTC- DEP Elementary in Vietnam since 2020. As a director, she continues to train and help teacher trainees to prepare themselves spiritually, intellectually and technically in service of the children. She continues to support various IMTC Centers by giving lectures as well as being external and chief examiner during examinations. As a member of the IMTC team she has been a consultant for Montessori schools, helped them set up Montessori environments and provided training and workshops for teachers and organizations to spread awareness of the Montessori method.

To continue her learning further, she completed the AMI Montessori 12-18 Diploma from Association Montessori International in 2023. She continues to work as a guide in the Adolescent environment at Atreya Vidyaniketan since 2023.  

She works with a Vision to help create, cultivate and promote an inclusive and vibrant community that follows the child in his/her journey of self-discovery and fosters confidence independent thinking, creativity, love for learning and mutual respect to make a difference in the world.
