Smt. Daisy Narang, born on 15th January, 1970 in Gurgaon in the State of Haryana, had her early education at St. Michael’s High School in Gurgaon. Later, she graduated in Commerce from MDU Rohtak in Haryana. Her interest in Montessori education sparked as a result of the Primary Montessori Course from Modern Montessori International, London, following which she spent 3 years as a Montessori Directress at MMI GK II, New Delhi. As her interest in the field grew, she took on the responsibilities of a teacher trainer within the same campus. Her passion for Montessori education took her to another branch of MMI at Palam Vihar, Gurgaon, wherein she served as a teacher trainer and eventually the School Principal. The learnings she had from her years at MMI encouraged her to set up a Montessori-inspired school, Udaan, in Gurgaon. She spent four years at Udaan, building the school from ground up, infusing Montessori principles in the core values of the institution. Over time, Ms. Narang met many inspired educators like herself, and refined her vision for a pure Montessori environment wherein children could realise their highest potential. Towards this, she developed a working strategy for the upcoming Our Montessori House in Gurgaon, focussing on developing the centre towards the whole child. Her prioritisation of children led her to focus on their environment: including an efficient school as well as a supportive home environment. Under her leadership, OMH thrived and became a beacon of high-quality Montessori education. Ms. Narang ensures her team is carefully selected and groomed in order to deliver value, while simultaneously focussing on spreading awareness among young parents unaware of the needs of the growing child. The pure Montessori environment in the school is complemented by Ms. Narang’s insistence on spreading community awareness – crucial for the development of young minds. To take her efforts one step further and continue her own learning, she signed up for and completed the Primary Montessori Training course once again under the able guidance of established Montessorians like Ms. Uma Shanker and Ms. Sujata Kumar. Ms. Narang, in her attempts to amplify the impact of Montessori education outside her immediate surroundings, took up the challenge of hosting various workshops and seminars across North India, including but not limited to the Army School in Jammu, Government College in Gurgaon, the Delhi Public School chain of schools, and Lovely Professional University in Punjab.
Ms. Daisy Narang has demonstrated her prowess and capabilities in not only the research and application of the Montessori method, but also in its enabling fields such as stakeholder management, institutional collaboration, school leadership, and community engagement. She has earned positive testimonials from peers, seniors, and juniors alike, and is forever humbled to carry on the true Montessori spirit in all that she does.
Based on all these contributions, commitment and involvement in Montessori activities and spreading the name of IMC in its promotional work, the Central Governing Council of the Indian Montessori Centre is pleased to confer on Smt. Daisy Narang, the Certificate of Graduation in Montessori Education with the title Director, enabling her to train Excellent Montessori Teachers with commitment and dedication to propagate the Montessori Education through support to the other Directors to establish large number of Training Centres in the Country as well as Overseas.
