Tamil Nadu Chapter
IMC TN Chapter was inaugurated in 2001 to spread awareness of IMC in Chennai and Tamil Nadu, soon after, a conference titled “The Montessori Revolution” was organized in Chennai with the active participation of the alumni and students of CMTC.
IMC – TN Chapter has conducted workshops, seminars and international conferences at Chennai and Coimbatore with speakers from the USA. Ms Paula Polk Lillard, Dr. Angeline Lillard and Ms Lynne Lillard were the keynote speakers at one of the Maitri Conferences held in Chennai, Mumbai and Bangalore. Mr. Trevor Eissler was a keynote speaker at conferences held in Chennai, Bangalore and Coimbatore.
The Chapter has done roadshows in local colleges to create awareness of the Montessori method and organized periodic workshops for Montessori teachers. IMC TN chapter takes the responsibility of selling books brought out by IMC and in enrolling members for IMC.
At present, the Honorary Secretary of IMC TN Chapter is Ms. Sudha Gandekar and the office Assistant is Ms. Suguna.

Karnataka Chapter
IMC Karnataka Chapter was established in the year 2002 itself but it got a framework and structure in 2012. The chapter has activities aimed mainly for propagation of the Montessori movement.
The primary activities of IMC Karnataka Chapter are Avalokana which is a workshop for working Montessorians on aspects of the functioning of the Montessori .
Second Saturday meetings also renamed as Montessori connect which is held every second Saturday of the month to bring in working Montessorians together for a meeting and discussion on various areas of Montessori pedagogy.
Madhurya is a school that is completely funded and managed by the Karnataka chapter which is mainly for the children of migrant workers.
Follow the child is the flagship magazine of IMC but printed and published by IMC Karnataka Chapter. It is a bi – annual magazine aimed towards understanding the Montessori methodology and reaching the masses.
Online Montessori training courses also known as OMTC is an online training conducted by IMC Karnataka Chapter which has a theoretical framework designed for understanding the Montessori pedagogy. It is her nine months program and at the end of the training certificate is offered to the student.
The other programmes includes workshops both local and international called as Paraspara, consultation services and any other support that is required by working houses of children towards the propagation of the Montessori movement.

Northern India Chapter - Gurgaon
The Northern India Chapter of the Indian Montessori Centre (IMC) based out of Gurgaon, was set up to carry out the activities of Indian Montessori Centre (headquartered in Bangalore) in the northern states. The Chapter is working towards propagating Montessori method in states where it is currently not prevalent in mainstream education.
