Maria Montessori's Birthday 31 August 2009

The Indian Montessori Centre celebrates the birth anniversary of Dr. Maria Montessori on the 31st of August every year. This year marks 139th birth anniversary of Dr. Montessori.

The celebrations will be held at JSS Auditorium, No.38, Jayanagar, Bangalore, at 4 p.m.

The release of the magazine Follow the Child by Ms. Samina Mahmood, Founder, Head Start Montessori House of Children, and the release of new CD with rhymes, Genuine Gems by Ms.Meenakshi Sivaramakrishnan, Director General, Montessori Director's Training Course, are the highlights of the occasion.

Celebrations in Indore

Hamara Sansar Montessori House of Children in Indore is also organizing the celebration of Maria Montessori's birthday in Indore. They are pioneering the effort to spread the Montessori movement in Indore and have invited over 200 people to join the celebrations. The guest of honor is Mr. Sumer Singh the Principal of Daly College, one of the premier institution in Indore. Heads of several other schools and colleges have been invited for the function. It is for the first time that such an effort is being organized in Indore. The initiative is being taken by Ms. Paridhei Singh who is the principal of Hamara Sansar. She is a member of the Indian Montessori Centre.
