Some details about the Online Montessori Training Course

The Online Montessori Training Course (OMTC) enables students to study the Montessori method in the comfort of their homes. The rigorous course covers the theoretical elements of the Montessori method in detail and also provides an insight into child psychology. The course is designed to develop a high level of professional understanding of the Montessori approach for children of the age group two-and-a-half to six years.

It is designed to help students understand the child's developmental needs (intellectual, physical, social, spiritual) and how these needs can be met at home or at school. It will also be of help to administrators who wish to create, monitor and administer Montessori Houses of Children.

Duration and Evaluation

The duration of the course is nine months, and the course material is divided into 9 modules comprising various lessons.
The students will be given an assignment after each lesson. All assignments will be rigorously evaluated to guage the understanding of concepts and also the originality of content presentation.
Individual attention will be given to the student’s work by highly experienced and qualified Montessori Adults.
The students may send their personal questions when sending in their answer sheets.
At the end of the 3rd and the 6th modules, there will be a test each. After the student successfully completes the nine modules along with the two tests, a comprehensive final examination will be conducted.

Certificate

The Indian Montessori Centre Bangalore, India, will award a Certificate to students who successfully complete the course, meeting the following conditions: (1) Completing the 9 modules, 2 tests and the final exam within 1 year from the date of enrollment for the course (2) Securing a minimum of 35% marks overall, the marks being calculated as a weighted average of the student’s marks in all the assignments, tests and the final exam.

Eligibility

The minimum age for admission to the course is 18 years.
An email questionnaire will be sent to determine eligibility after the student registers for the course.
A good working knowledge of English is essential. Course material and correspondence will be in English.
